Patina’s Story:

My kitty, Patina, snuck out my 3rd floor apartment window one night. She was missing for 10 days before I received a call from Animal Control that she had been hit by a car. I brought her to the U of Minnesota’s Small Animal Hospital where she was treated for 4 broken legs! She broke her front two legs when she jumped out of the window, and she broke the back two legs when she was hit by the car. She had managed to make it over five miles into downtown Minneapolis on two broken legs before she was hit by the car!

As it turns out, kitty broken legs cost just as much to fix as people broken legs- my kitty hospital bills stand at $6000!! So, we are now raising money to pay for the enormous expenses incurred in fixing little Patina. 9/22/2007- Thank you everyone! So far you have helped me raise $840, but I still have a long way to go to $6000. Please tell your friends about Patina’s story. Her last cast should be coming off sometime next week and she’s doing great. I just added recent photos of Patina. Please check out the photos to see her amazing progress!

1/11/2008- Just before Christmas I received a call from my vet that a good Samaritan had left a donation in my name. When I picked it up, and opened the envelope, I was in utter shock! A complete stranger had donated $500 to the HelpPatina fund!!! Thank you so much! It was the best Christmas gift I have ever received, and immediately went toward my still outstanding vet bills. I have raised $1662 to this date. Please continue to donate, as I have a ways to go before the entire $6000 bill is paid! I wish you much happiness in the coming new year. I’m so thankful for the outpouring of kindness I have experienced in the past year.
